Seeking Subjects for 2008

As spring approaches and my schedule for 2008 starts to unfold I am seeking new subjects for the project. Since I live in Toronto I am primarily limited to gardeners in this area. However, I am going to be in San Francisco and Austin, Texas this coming spring and would love to take advantage of those trips to schedule some photo shoots. Other trips may pop up so do not hesitate to get in touch regardless of where you are.

I am seeking a diverse group of gardeners and gardens to photograph. Skill level and the maturity of the garden do not matter. I don’t care if your garden is as small as a basil plant in a tin cup. I want to take your picture and hear your story!

To get in touch just fill out the form found here.

    Hi Gayla,

    I heart Gayla.

Had to get that out. Anyhoo, if you’re ever in the DC / Baltimore area, I’ve got a garden one for you. I moved here from California in September. We’re just renting, but we’ve got great space in the back. I’m working on a before / after using organic methods. I’ve fenced off half the yard, so anytime you come in 08, you’ll have a very clear picture of what the homeowners were able to grow using “traditional” methods, and what I am going to try to accomplish organically. I’m using compost, compost tea, compost, compost, organic fertilizers like alfafa pellets, clover in lieu of the lawn, oh yeah and compost. I’m also trying to use plants that prefer drought, and the ones that need more water will be planted in such a way so that I can easily hand water with reclaimed veggie / pasta water, etc.

It’s all still before right now. Very, very before.

Late in the fall we’re going to switch the gate and start working on the other half of the yard.

Don’t know if this interests you, or if you’ll be my way, but just wanted to let you know.

Enjoy Austin. My brother lived there for some time. He worked at a place called the Alamo Draft House. Definitely Fluff-worthy, IMO.

    Silently worshipping GT,

    Shari
